Timecast Commission - Part One
Popped over to Timecast in Shrewsbury to see Barrie and Mark and pick up the first part of my Timecast commission. The guys have produced some fantastic pieces and I can't wait to get my hands on the next part. They have even modeled rubbish round the back of the industrial units! All these will be making an appearance at next years Cold War Commander MegaGame in Broughton.

Early Santa
Off to Timecast tomorrow. They have completed the first part of my commission so I am popping over to their premises in Shrewsbury to collect it. Will get chance to have a look round the new retail unit and probably pick up a few bits and bobs. I will post pictures of the first part of the commission as soon as possible.
Merry Christmas Everyone.
Cheers

Radio Free Europe
Managed to finish off a Communications Tower that has been on the WIP pile. This will be an objective marker for next years Cold War Commander MegaGame. Made from a HO/OO scale model railway light with items from the bits box to represent dishes etc.
Thanks for looking.
Back in the Shed
After a period of not being able to get into my new HQ due to building work at the back of the house I managed an expedition to the end of the garden for the first time in ages and was able to finish off some WIP that had been sat waiting.
First up a PMS Bridging unit on T815 trucks, the first unit for my new Czech Cold War forces based on Luke Ueda-Sarson's great MSH lists and utilising some of his great Shapeways models specifically designed for the Czech forces. Real-life PMS bridging units typically had 32 centre sections, 4 river bank sections, 4 track-layers, and 12 boats/tugs to move the pieces into position. Got some more of the waterline boats on order which Luke very kindly sorted out as an individual item as previously in only came as part of a set plus a similar unit but based on T-138 trucks and also including a T-138 Vozovky Track Layer.

Plus some Soviet bridging support
More units coming soon.

Derby Worlds
Hi,
Managed to get over to Castle Donington to have a wander round the Worlds today and get a few goodies! Met up with Andy Canham who was helping out on the Lance & Longbow stand as well as helping out on The Baggage Train stand and also saw Ian Shaw who was in the BGMR competition. Unfortunately Andy and Ian had beaten me to the 6mm stuff from the Bring & Buy so when I arrived the cupboard was bare! Did manage to get a couple of bits of terrain though. Got a load of stuff from The Baggage Train including three bridges and some other bits and bobs. Picked up some British Paras and Commandos from Adler and some Union Cavalry from Baccus and finally picked up a copy of the Black Powder rules. Also picked up some 28mm figures from Tiger Miniatures for a new project. More about that in future posts. Spoke to the guys from Timecast about a commission they are doing for me and they had some of the new buildings designed for my project on the stand. I will post some photos soon. I will try and post some pictures from the day early next week.
A great day out and plenty of goodies to get started on in my new HQ if I can get in there as the builders have dug a great big holes in the back garden for the extension and I am struggling getting up the end of the garden!
Cheers

HQ Update - The Table
After a trip to our favourite Swedish furniture store for some small storage units and then on to a local (very orange!) DIY shop for some 6' x 2' sheets of MDF the wargames table has begun to take shape. As I had to scale the size of the workshop down due to other plans for the garden I now have a 8' x 6' table which is plenty big enough. It also gives me a large enough area to plan sections of the terrain for next years CP6 CWC MegaGame.
Just waiting for the twelve 2' x 2' Plain Grass Tiles from TSS to arrive then I can start setting up the table.
Thanks for looking.
Cheers

HQ Update
Not done much in the way of figure painting recently as I have been busy building a new home for all my wargaming stuff (much to the delight of SWMBO!). Nearly done, just got some guttering to attach. Off to get some timber later to start building the wargames table and have ordered some 2' x 2' plain grass tiles from TSS.
Please excuse the back garden we are in the process of landscaping it and also have a builder starting next Monday to put an extension on the back for a new kitchen.
Thanks for looking.

Taiwan the Formosa
Some additional units for my Taiwanese Marines. First up are the engineers, I have converted two Irregular Miniatures LVTP-5 models with the addition of the dozer blades from a couple of GHQ Strykers which aren't exactly correct but look the part. These are joined by a bits box conversion to represent a LVTR-5.
Forward Formosa!!!
Thanks for looking.
Richard
Next are a couple of LVTP-5's with rocket launchers. These are just BM-14 RL with the wheels etc removed and glued to the roof at an angle.
And finally a couple of standard LVTP-5's. I like the way Irregular have modelled troops riding on the roof. There are two variants, one of each is shown below. For some reason Irregular don't mention this on the website but it was a nice surprise. The models also have tarpaulins and back packs modelled on and all in all are a pretty good model.
Forward Formosa!!!
Thanks for looking.
