Taiwan the Formosa

Some additional units for my Taiwanese Marines. First up are the engineers, I have converted two Irregular Miniatures LVTP-5 models with the addition of the dozer blades from a couple of GHQ Strykers which aren't exactly correct but look the part. These are joined by a bits box conversion to represent a LVTR-5.

Next are a couple of LVTP-5's with rocket launchers. These are just BM-14 RL with the wheels etc removed and glued to the roof at an angle.

And finally a couple of standard LVTP-5's. I like the way Irregular have modelled troops riding on the roof. There are two variants, one of each is shown below. For some reason Irregular don't mention this on the website but it was a nice surprise. The models also have tarpaulins and back packs modelled on and all in all are a pretty good model.

Forward Formosa!!!

Gas Panic

Hi,

Been a very productive day today. Managed to get a load done before I have to go and coach the boys at the National Sports Centre at Lilleshall. Four gas containers (Angel Barracks Sci Fi range) to add a bit of clutter to the table.

Also continuing on the musical post title theme from an earlier post, any ideas gentlemen?

I believe 'Lange Gas' translates as 'Long Gas'.

A T62 with ammo trailer drives cautiously past the gas containers, one stray shot and 'BOOM'

Rear shot of the containers showing the hazard signs

Again thanks for looking.

Cheers

New Project for 2013/2014

Hi,

As well as preparing things for the CWC CP6 2014 game I have embarked on a project I have always wanted to do but never had the time or space. With the imminent arrival of my workshop HQ I have decided that now is the time to start. So after ordering some bits here is the first offering of many over the coming weeks and months a couple of Companies of LVTH-6 (LVTP-5 with a 105mm Howitzer). Models by Irregular Miniatures Can you guess what the new project is?

More to follow!

Cheers

SD-44 85mm Anti-Tank Gun

Hi All,

During my research into the Soviet Airborne forces I came across this and thought I would have a go at converting three Scotia D-44 85mm Anti-Tank guns. So I have ordered some from Scotia and will post my WIP.

Transmission Ends

Hi All,

The latest objective terrain piece for the 2014 CWC game at Broughton. This is a Shapeways 3D printed Television Transmitter from Brigade Models. I gave it a coat of German Panzer Grey and then a light drybrush. I then based it on a 80mm x 80mm x 2mm MDF base from Minibits and added some fencing and signs to add a bit of character to the piece.

I plan to use this and others I have planned as 'OBJECTIVE' markers in the 2014 CWC game. More to come and thanks for looking.

Can anyone name the singer that inspired the title for this blog? You don't win anything its just for fun!

CWC Markers - Experiment

Picked up some laser cut MDF markers at the recent Penkridge Wargames Table Top sale. When I saw them I thought they might come in useful for representing hits etc in our CWC games. So after some help from Leon at Minibits who very kindly supplied me with loads of small MDF squares (the centre offcut from the die holders Minibits produce) I came up with the following:-

The marker on the left has had the small square offcut glued to the top right corner and painted red to indicate that the T62 has sustained 2 hits and is suppressed.

The other marker shows that the T62 has sustained 1 hit only.

Thanks for looking
